I have always been passionate about Asian Media. I was determined to learn Japanese and Chinese in order to help facilitate the spread of culture. I have been studying Chinese since 2013 and Japanese since 2017. I specialize in East Asian Society and Culture, especially pre-modern History and Folklore.

I currently study East Asian Languages and Cultures at the graduate level. My area of focus is in Japanese. My research interests are pre-modern Japanese Religion and Folklore, and Chinese Medicine and Occult Practice.

Undergraduate Language Study

I majored in Chinese and Japanese Language and Culture. Here I developed advanced language skills such as Composition and Presentation. I studied Chinese at the 3000 level my first and second year, and the 4000 level my third and fourth. I studied Japanese at the 1000 level my first year, 3000 and 4000 my second and third. I studied in Japan at Kwansei Gakuin from 2019-2020.

I studied Chinese in high school under Shen Lao Shi. I learned basic nouns, pronouns, verbs, and sentence structure. I studied the Cambridge Pre-AICE Curriculum for two years; and the AP Curriculum for one.
